Why is our restaurant called 'Gurka'?
Gurka are those legendary, fearless and brave warriors born in the Nepalese Himalayas. They are ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of truth, duty and discipline, and have shown it many times on the battlefields of the world, such as the First and Second World Wars, Kashmir, Cargill, Iraq, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Falklands. islands and, of course, India and Britain. They do not feel the heat of hell or cold, day or night, they do not pay attention to insomnia or hunger when pursuing their goals. They would never accept defeat. If you asked them what exactly the Gurkhas were doing to them, they would answer, 'Our hearts are the rocks in the Himalayas; the Nepalese Khukri knives are our hands; our clothes are woven from bullets, gunpowder and explosives; our feet are barrels of cannon, and the delicious Nepalese food is our soul '. That is why we chose the name' Gurka 'for our restaurant.
'You relentlessly endure hunger and thirst and wounds; and your undisturbed ranks last sink into the rumble and smoke of battle. The bravest of the brave, the most generous of the generous - no country has ever had more loyal comrades than you! '
Professor Sir Ralph Turner
